BENEFITS OF CHOOSING US

A FEW REASONS AS TO WHY OUR CLIENTS STICK WITH US.....

GOT QUESTIONS?  .....

  • WHERE’S MY REFUND?

We know waiting on a refund can be frustrating, but here’s the truth: we do not have access to any information beyond what you see in the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool once your return has been processed.

We cannot contact the IRS about your refund until 21 days after the IRS has processed your return or unless you receive a notice instructing you to contact them.

For the most accurate and current updates, use the Where’s My Refund? tool. It refreshes once per day, overnight, so checking more often will not give new information.

The IRS tool tracks your refund through three stages:

    1. Return Received

    2. Refund Approved

    3. Refund Sent

You’ll see personalized updates based on the IRS’s progress, and once approved, the tool will list your actual refund date.

Please only call us about your refund if:

    • Where’s My Refund? tells you to contact the IRS, or

    • 21 days have passed since processing.

We are here to serve you and ensure everything on our end is handled accurately and efficiently.

  • You can track the status of your Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return using the Where’s My Amended Return? online tool or by calling 866-464-2050.

Both options are available in English and Spanish and allow you to check amended returns for the current year and the three prior years.

You may begin checking three weeks after you file your amended return.

To access your status, you'll need to verify your identity by entering your taxpayer identification number (such as your SSN), date of birth, and ZIP code.

Once authenticated, you’ll see your amended return move through three stages:

    1. Received

    2. Adjusted

    3. Completed

The online tool provides a visual graphic showing exactly where your return is in the process.

Processing typically takes 8–12 weeks, but it can take up to 16 weeks in some cases. It may take up to three weeks after you file for the return to appear in the system. There is no need to call the IRS during those first three weeks unless the tool instructs you to do so.

For the most current processing updates, you can also review the IRS processing status dashboard.

  • All or part of your refund may be offset to pay past-due debts such as federal taxes, state income taxes, state unemployment compensation debts, child support, spousal support, or other federal non-tax debts (e.g., student loans). If you believe you may have an offset or have questions about one, please contact the agency to which the debt is owed, as they control the offset process.

The IRS may also adjust your refund if they made changes to your tax return. If this happens, you will receive a notice explaining what was changed and why.

Where’s My Refund? will show any refund offsets or changes in your refund amount when they are related to IRS adjustments.

Please note that the amount shown in Where’s My Refund? does notinclude any fees that may be deducted by your tax preparer.

For more information about refund offsets, please see Tax Topic 203: Refund Offsets for Unpaid Child Support, Certain Federal and State Debts, and Unemployment Compensation Debts.

  • Many factors can affect how quickly your refund is issued once the IRS receives your return. While most refunds are released in less than 21 days, some take longer due to processing reviews, identity checks, or return corrections.

Also keep in mind that your bank may take additional time to post the funds, and mailed checks will take longer to arrive. Refund timing is never guaranteed, so allow for processing and delivery delays.

  • Some tax returns take longer to process than others. Delays can occur when a return:

    • Is mailed instead of e-filed
    • Contains errors or missing information
    • Requires additional review
    • Is flagged for potential identity theft or fraud
    • Is referred to the IRS by a bank for suspicious activity
    • Includes claims for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC)
    • Includes Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation, which may take up to 14 weeks to process

For the most current IRS processing timeframes, refer to the Processing Status Dashboard.

If the IRS needs additional information, they will contact you by mail. While a return is under review, being corrected, or investigated for suspicious activity,

Where’s My Refund? and IRS phone representatives may not be able to provide an exact refund date.

Continue checking Where’s My Refund? for updated status information.

  • Under the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act), the IRS is prohibited from issuing EITC and ACTCrefunds before mid-February. The IRS estimates that most EITC/Additional CTC refunds will be available in bank accounts or on debit cards by February 27, provided the taxpayer selected direct deposit and no additional issues delay processing.

Some taxpayers may see their refunds a few days earlier.

For your exact refund date, check Where’s My Refund?

Both IRS.gov and the IRS2Go mobile app are the most accurate sources and will show projected deposit dates for most early EITC/ACTC filers by February 17.

  • Our automated refund hotline, 800-829-1954, will not be able to give you your refund status for any year other than the current tax year.

  • Click here to be redirected to the IRS to apply for a PIN or to retrieve your PIN.  You will need to setup a taxpayer's account.

  • If you receive a letter from the IRS, please contact us immediately so that we can walk you through the proper steps.  Do not attempt to contact them before contacting us.

  • There are several reasons:

    • We can only deposit refunds electronically into accounts in your own name, your spouse's name or in a joint account.

    • A financial institution may reject a direct deposit.

    • We can't deposit more than three electronic refunds into a single financial account.
